One of the types of skills that are often common among many Witches is the gift of healing. There are three parts to our being. The body, the mind, and the spirit. I have met different types of healers that specialize in one or all of these parts.

We have the Holistic healers that use medicinal herbs and other techniques to heal the physical body. There are healers that heal the spirit through chakra cleansing, healing and alignment, energy cleansing, crystal healing and other related methods of healing. The third is healing the mind. This is often done through counseling to help the mind heal from the trauma of some kind and changing the pattern of unhealthy thinking as well as learning how to cope with mental illness.

All three of these parts of us affect the other two. How we think or thought is directly associated with how we feel emotionally is directly connected to our spirit, soul, or inner self. Those two areas of our being have an affect on our physical health and go along in reverse order as well. Mix them up any way you want and it always goes back to the concept of one affects the whole.

Believing this basic concept of Mind, Body, and Spirit, I believe it is important to work on the well being or health of three of these parts of the being. With that said, I want to address the whole idea of caretaking roles in society.

We have three basic types of practices that help us as human beings improve or maintain a sense of good health and well-being. The first are those who practice in the medical field dealing with physical health or the health of the biological part of our body. Second are the practitioners who specialize in psychology or behavior health from Psychiatrist down to clinicians, grief counselors and therapists and so on. The third are our spiritual leaders. These are the Priests, Priestess, Pastor, or any of our spiritual leaders that pray for us, teach us how to pray and overall help us with issues dealing with the spirit or that source or higher power we depend on.

Diana S. Davis is a member of the healing community. She has worked in the medical field for many years. She is a Reiki Master and a Certified Crystal Healer. That is not all she does. She is also a Caregiver by profession. Her gift is a gift of healing.

We can feel her kindness and her caring heart as it shines through her words in her Book, “Wise Advice for Caregivers”. It is a well, written book that is perfect for anyone who needs valuable information of how to care for someone in a hurry. I find it especially useful for those who have been thrown into a caregiver position due to circumstances that were not planned for.

Caring for others can be a very stressful thing for the person providing the care. Many people find themselves caring for loved ones at the last minute. This is a great book for those who are in the profession of Caregiving because of her thoughtful and thorough advice for the caregiver. It includes a chapter dedicated to how a Caregiver can take care of themselves.

As we know, I am sure you likely saw the meme, “you can’t pour from an empty cup”. It is important to replenish your love tank, your energy, and refresh your mind after a long day of caring for someone else. Diana S. Davis gives a lot of valuable information without the filler language that many use to simply expand the length of their book.

I was able to read the entire book in one evening. For the new Caregiver who was just thrown into the position, a brief and concise explanation is necessary and appreciated. If it took a whole 8 weeks or more to learn the important stuff many who need the information wouldn’t get it.

If you find yourself in a new position as a Caregiver, I recommend this book. It will be the most valuable resource in your library.
